My Own Book Promotion - Every child under eight years old gets a book!
My Own Book is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by two brothers in Fairfield, California. They started their company while still in high school and while both acheived their Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout rank! My Own Book is the only nationally run non-profit founded and run exclusively by teens to read and distribute books. My Own Book collects brand new books then distributes them to needy children and schools. They have provided the gift of literacy and fostered the love of books by giving away over 17,000 books!
February is National Share the Love of Reading Month. My Own Book's goal is for every child under eight years old to receive a book. We are encouraging every teen and adult in the United States to buy a children's book, read it to a child, then give the child the book. My Own Book will provide a bookplate to add to every book you give out. These personalized bookplates are added to each book to solidify ownership.

My Own Book & Live to Read Partnership
Live to Read has partnered with My Own Book to be a source of books for this Share the Joy of Reading event. Usborne Books purchased through Live To Read will result in My Own Books receiving additional free books based on the total amount of sales from this promotion through February 25th. Live to Read will also provide a cash donation to My Own Book to further the advancement of their programs.
